Introducing Blue Bird Village
Blue Bird Village

PHASE
COMMUNITY OUTREACH

LOCATION
BRENTWOOD, CA

What's in the Works?
Eden Housing, in partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of California and the Episcopal Impact Fund, is proposing a mixed-use, mixed-income community located at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and O'Hara Avenue in Brentwood, California. The community would include market-rate single-family homes, affordable townhomes for first-time homebuyers, and affordable rental housing for low-income families. The centerpiece of Blue Bird Village is Jubilee Farm, an organic farm and orchard operated by the Farm Church Ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of California.

What's there Now?
The site has been owned by the Episcopal Diocese of California since 2002. It is currently vacant and undeveloped.
Public Benefits

Affordable Housing
This development will add up to 100 units of high-quality affordable housing in Brentwood for individuals and families earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income for Contra Costa County.

Community
Space
A Community Building and Plaza will host meetings and events for the community. The Community Building will include a large multipurpose room and commercial kitchen.

Homeownership
Opportunities
24 townhomes developed by Habitat for Humanity will be available to first-time homebuyers. Approximately 30 "motor court" single-family homes offer an entry-level price point to the Brentwood market.

What's Happening Next?
The project team filed a conceptual Pre-Application with the City of Brentwood in August 2021. The team is soliciting community feedback on the proposed design with the goal of submitting a formal application to the Planning Department in Spring 2022.
